PROJECT OVERVIEW
The prompt for this project was to create a large, original furniture piece with our own aesthetic style.
Perhaps my best example of modern meets classical, the chaise lounge was a love letter to my own style and inspirations.
This work ended up being a collaboration of local suppliers and our own technicians due to the continued disruption of COVID-19.
DESIGN PROCESS
While most chaises resemble small sofas, I went with a weightless, streamlined approach for mine.
Its undulating, cushioned body is raised above the ground by two arcs. The final frame is strong and flexible, adapting to its users posture and weight.
Using a combination of powder coated tubing and faux leather fabric, this chaise would not be out of place in an upscale private office.
